This seven color Dominican Hospital brochure was distinctly special in these
ways: Binding: A seldom-used, yet artful touch, was the use of a Copper
colored wire to bind the booklet together. Typically, silver wire is used for
this type of binding. However, given the color of the inks and of the paper, this
well-chosen esthetic was one of many enhancements. Color: Although
it was initially designed in cmyk (4 color process), there were only 5 main colors
throughout. Unfortunately, printing in cmyk cannot communicate solid colors as
vibrantly as pantone colors. Our suggestion: print the entire brochure in pantone
colors- not typical, process color. Coatings: Two of the colors consist
of a matte coating and gloss coating. The pictures were gloss coated; everywhere
else, matte coated - yet one more reason to keep the reader engaged and captivated.
Paper: As the target of this brochure is hospital patients, an off-white
paper was chosen. The benifit: an overall soft, soothing, approachable communications
piece. Consider these options when planning your next brochure! If
